The example with which I described how deeply patients are interested in the tools of web 2.0 was the video Kerri Morrone posted for us. Thank you, Kerri, students liked and understood the message.

You know well how important it is to know the rules of cardiopulmonary resuscitation properly. Now the University of Illinois medical school suggested to use the rhytm (103 beats per minute) of Stayin Alive, the famous song of Bee Gees.
“Properly performed CPR can triple survival rates for cardiac arrest, but many people hesitate to jump in because they don’t feel confident about maintaining the proper rhythm,” Matlock says in a news release. “Our research subjects felt that listening to “Stayin

I’ve been a subscriber of the ScienCentral channel in Youtube for a while and there are really great videos about important topics such as genealogy (Blaine will certainly like it).

Genes don’t just tell whom you’re related to or why you look a certain way; now, they can also tell you where you came from. Researchers have created a genetic map of Europe, and they hope to expand it globally, as this ScienCentral News video explains.

Be patient. I had 15 readers a day in December, 2006. Now I have 1-1500 visitors a day. It takes time and effort (I wrote almost 1000 posts in 2 years).

Have your own website, even if you are part of a group.

I just found an interesting article at the PHG Foundation about a new potential treatment for cystic fibrosis, a genetic condition affecting the exocrine (mucus) glands of the lungs, liver, pancreas, and intestines. It is caused by a mutation in the CFTR gene. The product of that gene is a a chloride ion channel that plays role in creating digestive juices and mucus. If there is no normal copy of the gene, the person will be affected by CF.
The new drug VX-770 was developed by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
